Mornings are just great sometimes.. tuesday morning when I went for Saturn, it was the clearest, darkest sky I've seen for months (especially at my house). It was just beautiful. I love observing and imaging in the morning!

I can remember back in the old days when DLS was first introduced. Farmers actually fought against it as they said the extra hour of sunlight would destroy their crops!!!!!

They even held protests in Sydney. I remember watching it on the news as a youngin' and we couldn't help laughing at them.

It didn't make the Farmers look like an intelligent lot

I vaguely remember that Ken,
I can understand someone living in the north of oz being sick and tired of permanent sunshine, that makes sense.
But conversely who actually likes it when it gets like dark at 4:30 in midwinter!!??? like as us southerners get

DLS in winter I could understand and like, in summer it doesn't make as much sense to me.

In winter it really would be useful to have an extra hour of sunlight after work, and go to work during the dark (do anyway).

I don't understand why it's summer that gets it not winter.

Roger.

LOL Dave does that mean you sleep 16 hour a day?

Coming from the UK it is something I grew up with, however in the northern hemesphere the clock turns the other way for an hour.

I'm glad you guys like it, 'cos your welcome to it. I really can't understand why it is needed. The days are longer in Summer anyway and the further south you go the longer the days get. Crazy idea I for one am glad Qld did away with it.

Daylight saving in Winter? Now that I could understand.
