Thanx Daniel, but guess what, Ive just been through this with the PC Bloke over the phone and he commanded me the 'magic numbers, etc some were missing, and was a bunch of 0 0 's in which shouldnt have been there in one place - any way we did all this and The Problem Remains

Anyway, he will be dropping in here personally Weds/Thurs, even he is a bit confused as to why this is happening ?
I might just try the Áuto IP now as we didnt do that-a-way, as he put in some generic values, guess he used them as he know the PC, tho, never know with out trying huh

Fee of charge id say as Ive had this issue since he upgraded the whole shebang a couple of months back

Cheers Daniel

First option is go get and use a NEW cat 5 cable !
Cables are the "Weakest Link"
use a cable tester

Point taken Rob, thanx
I am dropping into J-Car tomoro anyway - so, may as well cover all bases - on this note tho - whenever I plug the cat10 ethernet cable to my lappy, it never fails

2nd thoughts there's a brand new cable that came with the modem, two I think, tho only a meter or two long, I can wheel the puuta desk over and try all the same before another purchase

Good thoughts mate - appreaciated

mmm Problem Remains - had the PC Tech guy here for near an hour, no go, he says it is a Windows Problem and for me to get around it by 'manually switching, as in, disable network then enable network' bugga, have to do this on every start-up.. could leave the PC in 'sleep mode' most of the time.

Weirdest thing was, tech guy found that when after 'manual switching' to enable, and getting Internet, Windows stated that it Cannot see the DNServer ? BUT IT GETS WEIRDER - When Windows Does see the DNServer, PC can Not get the Internet ? ? ? WTF

Anywho, Other suggestion Option was try upgrading to Win10 ? ?

Got a friend local or neighbour with a PC or laptop to pop in and try their machine on your router to see if it gets internet connectivity, then consider testing your PC at their place. That would isolate if the problem is with your PC, your router or both!

Its unlikely but on your PC the software part of the IP stack may have somehow got corrupted. The easiest fix for this is to from Windows - have a techie delete your network device then re-instal it and its drivers. That would reset the software part of the IP stack.

Alternately if its a desktop with a spare PCI card slot then just add another network card - they cost around $45, Install this, let Windows detect it and install the drivers and then simply switch the cable to this and see if the problem goes away. That would fix the problem if its a failing network port with a corrupt IP hardware stack.

Awesome Thanx Mathew, makes a lot of sense to try the PC elsewhere ect.

This Tech guy did re-install a driver in for the network device, but not the whole network device, the new/reinstalled driver didn't help any, actually it wasn't easy to find the right one, but I guess he wasn't able to spend too much time with finding a complete device re-install, but I reckon he should have tried, maybe he didnt think on it ?

Ill call him and have another chat, also about trying a new network card ?
I can also take PC to a friends and see what happens there, and maybe visa-versa ? My Lappy does Not have a problem with the same ethernet connection tho, works every time ?
Anyway, more experimenting to do from your advice !
Appreciate your input again Mathew

No worries.

Techies should know to look for driver files first in c:\windows\inf and then in c:\windows\drivers\system32 most drivers will already be there!

Ok,

Im still working on this and I'm finding areas which are questionable ? Here are two 'screen snips' and I have 'yellow highlighted' some interesting findings that may have relevance ? Im not sure but thought to post incase there is an issue noticeable ? ?

Pic 1)
Question A: On Left - Whats with the 'Lease Obtained/Expired 1 hr - is this normal or could it be a regitering setting when connect each time and there-fore lasting only 1hr - so when I shut down, time has expired ???
I got no idea ?? Just asking ...

Question B: On Right - Should I be needing a a connection with IPv6 ? I know I have connection with IPv4, but is this correct, maybe I need IPv6 and not IPv4 ? Or , do I need both ? ?

Pic 2
Straight forward question - Do I need a Network Address Value ? If So - Wheres one can I get ? ?

A mate of mine found the issue, was part of Apple Adobe Photoshop suite - possibly with Dreamweaver at a stab ?

Anywho - here a couple of snips where to correct it -> In the Task manager -> Services -> Program called 'Bonjour Service' was running, which was causing the issue

My mate has 'connections' online input etc to with his work field, he also mentioned a quite of number of peeps are having the same issue, Re: Internet not starting up ! I'm not sure if the above 'fix' is relevant for all others tho, but worth making a note of it I guess ?

BTW, My Adobe PShop, Illustrator & Dreamweaver are an older 'disc' version and namely PS3 collection - I guess the issue, if relevant, could be in other similar versions, eg: PS2 Ps4 Ps5 maybe ?

I also mention my appreciation to all who placed input into this thread as you all inevitably help create a path of - try this,, try that, which lead me to here
Cheers all, im in your dept

Are you using M/S internet explorer? If so try this open IE and internet options open connections then open LAN settings and see if the proxy server box is ticked, if it is un-tick it and see if that makes a difference. Mine magically ticks it's self and then I get nothing not a thing!!!
