Just heard this news of Geoff's passing today also. Very sad news indeed.
I can also relate to his enthusiasm to help people.
I had just hooked up my caravan to leave Lostock when we found a flat tyre on my vehicle.
It was quite wet and dangerous with the van still hooked up and Geoff dived under the jack to adjust something with the wheel half on.The whole rig could have fallen on him.
Such was his eagerness to help people.
He will be sadly missed by his family and all who knew him.
RIP Geoff

I just heard this very sad News today.
Geoff will indeed be missed by all of us who had the pleasure of Camping with him, and also observing with him at the Pony Club and having a laugh together.

RIP Geoff.

This is so sad to hear. Like Dunk, I only met him once at Bretti last year and the time I met him was when that photo was taken of him having a dip in the river. He was such a nice guy. So sorry to hear this sad news. RIP Geoff.

Gosh you have a memory like an elephant GTB Owl! I read through the old historical threads, and glad I did, because that weekend was historically significant. Having had bad weather the weekend before that prevented us from going to Paint Ball, that weekend we had our first ever visit to the Pony Club. Turns out, it was also the first night that our dear recently departed friend Geoff came along to observe with us. He went hunting for my lid after meeting me only once. Makes me even more sentimental about him. What a great bloke he was!

This is so sad .
I've never met him personally but as a fb friend we kept in touch regularly on facebook. In fact, around a couple of weeks ago was the last time. He was also a big supporter of the IIS fb page, constantly sharing our posts out.
This was the last post he made on fb, on the Sept. 7th. A bit ironic really .

RIP Geoff, I will sure miss seeing you around.

Thank you Allan for the funeral news.

Hi Everyone,
Thank you so much for the condolences and some funny stories about Dad. He definitely was one of a kind. He loved Monty Python so that made the song choice very easy and he wouldn't have wanted us to be upset so it was important to remember him for the quirky, odd fellow he was.
I'm still in shock because it was so sudden and he was fit and active running marathons, triathlons, kayaking and cycling; we still have no reason or cause as to why (though they could definitely use him as a case study for aspartimine poisoning due to his love of Diet Coke!).

I'm sorry I didn't get to let everyone know prior, I was struggling to find contacts till I saw the post of his FB page

Hi Georgie, my deepest condolences to you and your family. I just lost my mum only 4 months ago and it's been a really tough time; losing a parent isn't easy . That was me who put the post up on Geoff's fb page. I just thought I'd let his fb friends know. I'm glad you saw the link to it here, it worked out well.
