Too right !!!
It's a beautiful poem Alex, you are very talented! You must have an understanding wife - does she know ?
Because if I caught my hubby writing a poem about a beautiful woman, I'd club him over the head, drag him by his hair, tie a rope around his ankles, hang him upside down from a tree branch, before throwing a bucked of blood sucking leaches and ticks on him .

Hi Suzy,
Thank you for your compliment.
I can see how some people would see the poem as some ode to infidelity. But it really is nothing about that. It is about seeing a rose, but not stopping to smell it...

I suppose what works for some, doesn't work for the rest of us.
I guess as long as there's good communication, understanding and honesty between the couple, there's no problem. And you are a rather creative soul - i.e. sketching, telescope making, poetry, astronomy etc. So I guess writing about beautiful women is another hobby .
Still... despite after what I just said above, none of that would cut it for me .
I applaud you for being able to have the freedom to express your thoughts without holding back, in your beautiful poetry.

Perhaps something like this......
There was a stupid husband who's eyes did wonder
On a blonde sheila by the beach here Down Under
So then he decides to write about it in his blog
But sprung him I did so I smacked him with a log
He lay there with a headache and asked for two Panadol
I said $%^&*@! off I'll watch you suffer till next nightfall.

It's okay, I already have a ton of songs written about me .
Though some songs carrying my name don't portray me too well . My full name is Suzanne and in one of those songs - Fire & Rain (one of my favs) - James Taylor goes on to sing, "Suzanne the plans they made put an end to you" - charming . Wait. I just realised... the comments I made earlier don't help my case . On the upside, the Hollies kept apologising to me .

I found this old thread of mine. I had visions of Bronte Woman going through my mind today as I worked on a Christmas present I was making for my wife. She did read my poem back then, and nothing "adverse" happened. On the contrary
My kids on the other hand were totally horrified! They could not believe that I even looked a another woman, and to write a poem was akin to cheating on my wife and them! They found the draft piece I wrote on paper, and oh my gosh, weren't they upset!! Just too young to understand. Bless their innocence and loyalty Even now, years later, they still bring up their anger towards me over this poem!
I've since seen many other Bronte Women around here. All beautiful, all a joy to be able to rejoice my own masculinity that finds them attractive. A source of inspiration and levity. And my wife, Queen of them all.
Alex.
