Either way, enjoy!
thanks , i haven't watched/read master and commander but it is on my list. i must say, it would be unbelievable to take classes of any kind from any of the Herschel's!

Hi - Don't get you hopes up too much on delivery date - I ordered a 12.5 iDK on the 1st April 2015 and I'm still waiting for confirmation that the optics have been finished and the build has started on the mechanical parts. I have spoken to a few people and they can be slow to deliver but on the other hand all the reports I have had say the scopes are worth the wait.

Cheers

That is what i hear too, good quality gear but less well known then companies like planewave. you will have to let me know when you take delivery of the 12.5, the images people are getting out of them are simply fantastic. i am not relying on a Christmas delivery but it would be nice. i was talking to Dave the other day and he said he took delivery of all the parts to make up 5 scopes, i hope one of those is yours.

Thanks for that. i am hoping to get some great galaxy images with this, I also have some other, not so common, projects lined up too, photometry, astrometry. i want to stretch my abilities and see if i can measure the parallax and proper motion of proxima centauri, capture data on hot jupiter exoplanets and track minor planets. While i wait for the scope to arrive i will be putting my BT 250 on the PMX. my eq6 is really struggling with this scope and all of the equipment i have on it, the PMX wont even feel it. i will just have to pick up a universal Losmandy plate (if anyone has one they want to sell, let me know).

Suggest you guys with these scopes ordered consider hedging your funds to protect yourself from further devaluation of the AUD. Current predictions may see it fall to $0.60 USD once the US raises interest rates in coming months.

Yes you'd be best looking to pay in advance at a time when the dollar is highest. You'd be taking a risk but the risk of the dollar declining further seems much higher.

Greg.
