I liked the comment in one of the British newspapers about putting another wimp on the barbie. Seriously the ACB need a kick up the clacker, gonna be some full on soul searching after this debacle. It is apparently the quickest ever test innings dismissal, a sad feather in the Aussie caps.
Clive, both teams have to bat and bowl on the same wicket, it is just that Aust did not do what it was supposedly capable of. All too late now, the brits get their little urn back.

Only saving grace is it was not against the kiwi's, I have to work with one and it was painful enough!

The trend continues in the second innings after the openers got Aust off to a pretty good start. What is it with the middle order, a huge shake-up is required.

Ha ha Yes Clive Thanks for pointing that out.

And Suzy Re: Double face palm. I like it. Particularly it being Sci Fi, and astro related.

I have never had any great confidence in Clark's captaincy. He is an excellent player but not aggressive like S. Waugh or Mark Taylor. He just does not have what it takes to instill confidence to his batsmen when its needed. The behaviour of players off field reflects a lack of respect to the captain. Clark never really had control of disciplining the players. Yes it was there on the surface but not in the players' hearts. I believe Clark's retirement will be in Australia's favour.

Cheers

Maybe the team said no, and were then given spiked curries for dinner the night before.
Hence the rush to get off the ground during batting.

Sort of reminds me of an old comic strip, which was directed at English cricketers but would be so appropriate now. Scene is the Aussie dressing room. Lehmann is on the phone (land line) and is saying "Could you hang on for a couple of moments? He's just popped out to bat."
