Because if the image quality of a plossl (not necessarily GSO) doesn't satisfy you, I doubt very much that that of a Baader zoom will.

You really should try before you buy. There are as many views as there are people. Add owners' bias and you have a task at hand.
Oh, the image quality of the Plossl's I have is perfectly OK, I just wanted to know what the "next step" was so to speak since I had spare money in my budget for upgrades and nothing to compare them to. Doing the math I thought I'd be able to get a bit more magnification than the 133x of my 9mm. And if I'm going to spend money on more magnification, I might as well get something that won't be upgraded in short order.

And point taken - I'm just a little limited in terms of transport options to get to one of the local meetings at Stromlo (no car).

I ended up getting in contact with the guys at KK and the 7mm ortho cost me $130 including postage, which I thought was very reasonable compared to other prices I had seen online (especially considering the ridiculous $50 minimum postage from the US) and is cheaper than the TeleVue plossl's for example. I'm holding off on anything else for now until I've had a chance to put that through its paces.

Thanks again everyone!
