Can anyone suggest a good site/app to help locate stars, planets, etc.?
Stellarium - various platforms (PC for me) (free and brilliant) www.Stellarium.org

Google Sky Map (free for Android phone/tablet) Google Play Store

Tonight's sky www.tonightssky.com web site where you say where and when and it tells you where to find (planets, clusters, nebula, galaxies, comets, double stars) and even can give alt az coordinates for given time frames Brilliant

Astroid (for Android from google play store)
Planet's position (Android on Google Play
Whereisit (Android google play store)

Go for the 10" and agree Stellarium is good for starters, but you will want something else down the track if you get more serious.

Don't worry about not having the cash for accessories - two eyepieces is all you really need for now.
