Over for Another Year
VicSouth 2015 has come and gone.
80 plus people attended this event.
Despite the doom and gloom of the forecast there were several nights of good viewing, with Friday and Saturday nights having the best viewing. Sunday started with high cloud but cleared up fairly early.
Solar viewing was good on Friday and Saturday and as I planned to do solar imaging on Sunday there was a lot of high scattered cloud.
Terry Lovejoy was the principle speaker for this event and gave an interesting talk on comet finding. Terry made himself available for questions and chats throughout the weekend, and was always seen chatting away.
We decided to give Terry the added bonus of a display of Aurora Australis, (I still trying to work out how the committee arranged this).
The committee would like to thank all those who attended and look forward to seeing you all again next year.
The committee would also like to thanks this year’s sponsors- Sky Watcher Australia, Simulation Curriculm (Starry Night) and Bintel for their kind donations.
Lastly the committee would like to thank the new management team of the Little Desert Lodge for the assistance they gave the committee, nothing was not possible.
