I was a voracious reader of Doc Smith, Heinlein, Asimov and many other in my youth.

I bought and read most of Larry Niven's novels, this author being by far my favourite. To this day I cannot understand why Hollywood has not made Ringworld into a movie or set of movies. Its a much better story than StarWars could ever hope to be. Many of Niven's other novels could be excellent movies also.
