All great shots Mike. (Otherwise why would you be showing them?) I think I'd go for NGC1512 as my favorite, just because of the good work you've done in revealing the faint outer arms.

Yeah would be nice, a veeeeery expensive 32" telescope, mount and observatory at one of the best places on Earth for astronomy...buuuut hey, sadly t'will never happen huh? soooo in the end we need to make the most of what we got and get the best from it in the conditions we are handed and be happy with that

Chart 32 are producing some awesome images, I have spent plenty of time ogling at the astronomical vistas consistent sub arc sec seeing allows a 32" scope to reveal.

Hi Mike,
nothing can beat the thrill of taking your own pictures
with whatever equipment you can afford.
The amateur pictures are getting better as the envelope is pushed.

cheers

Totally agree Al, as you know I have been imaging the heavens since 1982 and I could never in my wildest dreams, even as little as 10 years ago, imagine I could ever capture THIS for myself with just a 12" scope (let alone at F3.8)

In fact until relatively recent years the idea of taking 6hrs worth of exposure (let alone the 20, 30 or indeed 120 Rolf hrs taken these days ) as in the above image would have sounded like pure science fiction

Hello Mike,

Just had to write to say this is without doubt one of the net's best collections of galaxies [and I am soooo jealous of your location ].

A testament of one's commitment and passion [I am soooo jealous!].

Hmmm thanks Seve...I'm not sure but sounds like you are jealous mate ...nah seriously, although I know there is some effort involved (been there done that for bloody ages myself!), you seem to make do quite nicely with what you have been dished up

Merry Christmas dude
