N 87 88 89 92

These are very faint, probably too faint for a 12" scope.
See Ron's description's below with a 16".
I think it should be called John Herschel's quartet, he found them.
Here are the large field and small field maps from SkyMapPro.

Herschel Galaxy Challange Part #2. 20/09/06

NGC 7658. mag 14.3In moments of better seeing this vey faint very small object is seen to be two galaxies, one slightly brighter than the other, two stars close by make seeing this pair very difficult.Spent quite a bit of time on this object. 13mm Nagler+2xbarlow seeing 7-10.trans 7-10.12:35 ut 20:35 AEST

NGC 549 mag 14.6 Faint small oval in field with Ngc 546.mag 13.5 and Ngc544.mag 13.4 it is the faintest of the three quite a struggle to tease it out of the back ground, as seeing improved it became more aparent 13mm nagler 2xbarlow 12:50 ut.

NGC 572 mag 14.2 small faint oval nebulous extension to a 13th mag star, 3 bright stars in the field mag 8.6.10.3.10.6. No other detail.13mm nagler, 2xbarlow 13:15 ut.

NGC 644. mag 14.1 Faint oval galaxy brighter towards the centre, in same field as Ngc 641, this galaxy has a given mag of 12.3 but seems much fainter, no detail was seen.13mm nagler 2xbarlow. 13:45 ut

NGC 698.mag 14.0 Small faint oval galaxy, slightly brighter towards the centre, in same field as Ngc 696 which is slightly fainter but not difficult to see in a field of no bright stars. 13mm nagler. 2xbarlow. 14:06 ut.

NGC 727. mag 14.0 very Small haze just teased out of the background,no detail was possible, this was the most difficult object to see.13mm nagler. 2xbarlow. 14.37 ut.

NGC 729. this object is given as a double star in the NGC 2000 edition, the NGC/IC
Project identifies NGC 727 and NGC 729 as the same object.

NGC 754.MAG 14.2.very small almost star like, in same field as oval shaped NGC 745 mag 13.5.
two stars of ten and eleventh mag in the field make it harder to to observe this pair.
13mm nagler 2x barlow. 14:50 ut.

NGC 1660 mag 14.0 small faint oval, no detail in pair with NGC 1658 an elongated galaxy brighter towards the middle. mag 13.4. 13 mm nagler 2x barlow. Celestron 5mm XCEL 15:05 ut

I will not be able to observe the remaining five galaxies for about a month, as they are late morning objects and we are heading towards longer moonlite nights.
