Do it yourself for free or pay an account to do what you can do yourself. They say, "use ETAX" and take control of the process, then screw you for data. "Data Linking" ACT gets more powerful, "the right to privacy" becomes even more of a joke.

yes, well put. There is safety in numbers. If EVERYONE is being watched, im lost in the noise, very unlikely they would bother with lill ol me. There is a balance bttwn privacy and catching the bad guys for the public good. Cant have it just one way or the other.

The computing power available to the surveillance state would make you think twice. I can rip through a million records in no time on a p.c.. Imagine what you can do with that stuff! If you look at what the gov is doing, legislating to preserve YOUR information so that they can do what they want with it. Should someone decide to be a ****e, you have very little comeback.

It should bother us all, the least trustworthy people in the country, with the most power and information they have ever had.

Just do it manually on paper.

The same information winds up recorded as on ETAX, but you will feel better.

We live in a great time, I used to go see my accountant with reams of records for interest, dividends and the like. Now I walk in, and she has it all available from the ATO site. Saves me heaps of time.
Regards,
Renato
You could save yourself the accountants fee by going to the ato site and clicking submit, they have data already.. money for nothing for the accountants ha ha

With govt departments you can get unstuck by supplying incorrect information. But I never give accurate data to anyone else, change your Dob, miss-spell your name etc. we should all do our bit to corrupt the data base.

Haha, I regularly get emails from places I have had to sign up to addressed to "Lord Feral of the well endowed" Makes me smirk long enough not to get annoyed as I hit the delete button....
