Well... it is very comforting to hear that the damage done to our economy and biosphere will be proportional to our insignificant contribution to the problem. I guess compensation for the collapse of tourism when the barrier reef dies, drought relief, bush fire and flood levies will be paid by by China, India, SE Asia, the US, etc etc?

Seb, can you point us to a single example where the carbon tax has been levied on someone proportional to the amount of air they use as opposed to the extent to which they pollute it?

I drive a big heavy Nissian Patrol Diesel, believe it or not it's cleaner than petrol & just as efficient. Before I get any abuse, I don't live in suburbia and the closest traffic light is 80km away. Vehicles out here go to the wreckers with the original brake pads still on them.

Just wait for a new diesel tax because Tractors, Headers, Semi & B double transport trucks bring your food to your supermaket.

I still think these new taxes are good, saves me having to decide what to spend my pittance on each week.

Although for the tax I have paid up to my retirement 2 years ago,I should be given 3 dole bludgers per week to mow the lawn, do the cleaning, wash the Ferrari.
