started a car that had been in the open for 20+ years, cleaned out the sump, new oil , squirt of oil down the plug holes, rebuilt the carb and off it ran. Six months wont cause more than a flat battery, unless you leave it out in the tropical weather, that could cause some damp/corrosion issues. I have left cars for 12 months and not had too many issues. After 4 years I had hydraulic brake failure (HQ Holden) but that was all (car was started yearly, oil changed at the same time), its still going fine 9 years later.

Thanks for all the good advices, really appreciated.
I am breathing easier now and I am sure it will fire up when I am back in six months time!
Just back to the tires, if I over inflate them, would I need to raise it off the ground on jacks, or am I just over concern?

If you can put it up on jack stands it would be better, and you could drop the tyre pressures down a bit or jsut leave them alone if you had it up in the air.

That is one thing that could be a real advantage, some tyres don't seem to have any issues but others I have had take a set in a week if they are not moved and the car feels pretty lumpy for a couple of KM until they warm up and come smooth again. I had a Falcon XR6 that felt like it had square wheels for a KM or two if it sat for more than a couple of days without moving.

upping the tyre pressure sounds just as necessary as lubricating your muffler bearings hahahaha

Just leave your car and enjoy your time away, it will still be there, and just fine.
