Futher to an old thread. I have been trying to contact these guys all week and the email addy always bounces and the mobile is always off.

Are VTI still in business? I'm reluctant to deal with a place that is so hard to get in contact with.

I've called a number of times on the mobile and no answer. I did send an email 2 weeks ago and got a response a day later though.

Payment is by bank transfer, so you could "buy" online and wait to see if you get a response requesting payment details. I've never called them but have always had quick responses to my emails. Last purchase was 2-3 weeks ago.

Edit: I also see that my product review of the Pentax XF 12mm has been added to the website in the last few days, so they do seem to be active.

I notice the email address on the website is salesNsupport@vtioptics.com.au while the emails I've received have been from sales@vtioptics.com.au

I've emailed an enquiry to both addresses asking what the story is, and also asking about the mobile number not being answered. If I hear back I'll update this thread.

BTW, I'm not connected with VTI in any way and have no vested interest. I just like to support a local vendor, particularly when I've had such good service from them myself. My last purchase was only a few weeks ago and I've seen nothing to suggest there is any kind of problem. Things change, of course.

I got a reply from James at VTI. He is currently overseas on holiday so his mobile is inactive, but VTI is running as usual. Orders are being taken and despatched by his assistant. The emails are all active and he is checking them twice a day while he is away.

Maybe the email that bounced back had a typo in it? I always use sales@vtioptics.com.au

Cheers

Morton

Yes I picked up my 6.7 ES this morning and even though James is overseas he has an assistant organising all products. Business as usual.

John,

I see you have a 12" dob. How do the ES eyepieces go on the fast scope? I was considering getting a 16mm

Very happy with the entire ES line in my F5. I've tried the 6.7 and 8.8 and really sharp all the way, nice flat field and generally excellent in a fast scope. I haven't tried the 16mm but have read good reports. I've used the 9mm and 14mm 100 degree series as well and wow. I've never looked through an Ethos but many respected CN reviewers cannot tell the difference between HHS 13mm Ethos and the 14mm 100 degree ES. Some take issue with the tight eye relief but I don't have any issue at all.

The only ordinary review on the 82 ES range is ghat the 14mm is very soft in the outer 50% of the view, others say it's ok in a fast dob - I've never used the 14mm 82 degree though.
