I too found this amazing having seen the first image, then I thought about it and using the wrong frame would probably make the image more noisy than not calibrating it in the first place. So it is not so surprising that with the correct one a good gain is seen.

Integrate integrate, this is one of the most lovely patch of skies for galaxy lovers! Nice preliminary light by the way, it is going to be a fantastic shot!

Indeed, the wrong calibration data does it every time

Wonderful looking image for sure, that's going to be a cracker image! I love that lenticular NGC1381 btw.
How long do you think you'll go on this field?
