Sab, if you really want to drive a truck, I mean a real one, go to the NT and you will walk into a job the minute you walk off the plane or cross the border.
My hubby's a truckie he drives a B-Double full of grain from swan hill to Melb every day he said with the crazies on the roads these days and the road laws are getting tougher with log books etc..... It is not as much fun as it used to be if he could get a better paying job staying home he would be out of the trucking business asap but yeah the money is too good to refuse but give it a go you might like it but you need good patience as road rage is getting fierce out there lol good luck on your next adventure cheers
I'm thinking of getting my license. I just love the idea of driving, even if it in the city. My main goal is to become a semi driver for the major supermarkets and Aldi, huge money there and you get to go home every night. The only thing that scares me is the 18 speed crash box , but I am willling to learn it. A great skill to have in this country, trucker jobs are always in demand and command some big money.
I',m planning on going for my MR in the next couple of weeks, then upgrade to HR and HC in the next couple of years.
Dont be scared of 18 speeds as you would only be useing 9 of them max.
You,ll be right.
