Why Astronomy?
Why can’t I get astronomy out of my head
No hobby was ever so unkind
I can’t get astronomy out of my mind

You’re the reason why I’m losing my sleep
Reading books on astro-physics geek
Compounded by Hawking, Penrose, Hoyle and Moore
Big Bang, Big Bubble. No not The Hubble

Why can’t I get astronomy out of my head
No hobby was ever so unkind
I can’t get astronomy out of my mind

REFRACTOR,REFLECTOR,CATADIOPTRIC,
Newtonian,Dobsonian and SCT
learning languages unheard of ASAP
Plossles,Barlows,Erfle,Ramsden,Huyg hens,Orthoscopic,Kellner
Now I see, I think?

Why can’t I get astronomy out of my head
No hobby was ever so unkind
I can’t get astronomy out of my mind

But wait, what do I see?
Up in the sky is it a bird, a plane? No wait
A globular cluster, a comet, a nebula and galaxy.
Ah that’s why!
Mine

well even though this thread has dropped down the list I wish to add my work.. (unpaid in the area of poetry and you will see why)
But its a have a laugh at me as I see me...

There may be no point to everything
yet everything will meet at a single point
From everywhere from everything from every single place
All go racing past each little point in space

And if no point to everything what makes all this stuff go
I ask those I hope may know and comprehend my thoughts
But these kind folk listen patiently to finally tell me “no”

Still I see each point and everything right out to the seams
I like to think I understand and know what that really means
Still if it be so what I can’t figure out.. is the nothing in betweens.

What a giggle!
You guys are great.

My black dog is deaf as well, so she can't hear you coming to get out of the way. The poor thing gets accidently kicked in the head/ribs/butt nearly every night.

my poetry

The boss has caught me red handed twice on thei forum, but I'm leaving today so who cares... Got nothing to do except make up poetry. Here goes

Twinkle twinkle little star
How I wonder what you are
Is your furnace nuclear fusion
Or am I covered in confusion
* * *
Twinkle twinkle little star
I know you’re really awfully far
But when your light comes down to me
Is it the past that I can see?
* * *
Twinkle twinkle little star
Are you part of a spiral’s bar?
And maybe you’re going to go super nova
And be swallowed up by a black hole when the explosion’s over.
* * * *

It’s awfully bad luck on i-ponders
His mirror has cracked into chunks
Ving fished in the grass further yonder
But all he found was glass junk
* * * *
Ballaratdragons has got a black dog
Who sometimes goes bump in the night
Jjnettie”s poor hound is as deaf as a log
When she kicks it, it howls out in fright
* * * *
If Ballaratdragons just painted his pet
A beautiful brilliant white
And hound with a cowbell implant by the vet
Then observing sessions would be jolly well right!

Astronomical Mary

Mary had a little scope
it's tube was white as snow,
and everywhere the GoTo went
the scope put on a show!

She took the scope to school one day
which was against the rules,
the kids all though it was a cannon
the silly pack of fools.

One night she took it to the park
to view for just a while,
but someone called the cops on her
who thought it was a missile.

Back home again she set it up
but stress had made her vomit,
and while she puked and felt real ill
she missed out on a Comet.

The next night Mary set it up
the sky put on a show,
with Galaxies and Nebula
and stars all in a row.

She made it track to follow Mars
and stars she couldn't count,
but while she wasn't taking care
it fell right off the mount!

She got so upset with herself
and got down on her knees,
and didn't look what she was doing
and knocked over her EP's!!!

Mary had a telescope
but found it wasn't fitting,
for a clutz to own a telescope
and now she sticks to knitting.
