Two dogs: Bellatrix and Sirius and both are incorrectly named.

Bellatrix is a big sook - no were near being a warrior and Sirius is definately not the brightest - she hasn't figured out that walls do not move no matter how fast you run at them

When we got this brute of a dog it looked like every strand of fur was a different shade so we called him Doppler as in Doppler shift.

Hi Mike,
I am tempted to be rude and say that your pet is not a dog but a mop with a head.
But! I won't be so rude so I did not say that.
Actually it is a nice little fella. I like nearly all dogs.

Mine is a Border Collie. Our front gates are open 24/7. He never goes out further than across the road if ever. He is smart. We have 2 acres for him to chase planes. He runs barking at planes flying at around 2,000 to 3,000M above him.

He is ball mad. When I walk he runs and drops the ball 5-10M ahead hoping I will throw it.
Now he drops the ball in my gardening shoes which sit outside the back door.

This dog picks up the newspaper from the front and delivers it (intact) to the back door. Before I arise in the mornings.
He also assisted or actually found some jewelry that my partner lost in our yard. Smartest dog that I have ever owned.

His name? Rambo, a star. and there is the relation to Astronomy.

Cheers

Thumbs up Astrochoc Labradors

I few year back we had a litter of chocolate brown Labradors.

We bred under the name of Astrochoc

I was learning html at the time, so the first web site I build was all about breeding chocolate labradors (it is still up if you want to google it!)

Our girl, Coco had 6 puppies and I had to register their names in the AKC.

Here is a grab from the site - goodness knows if I got the astronomy references correct! Update me if you like! The only pup to continue the Astrochoc line was Astrochoc Vega Mmajc - so there might be a smattering of star dust in recent generations of Australian Chocolate labradors.

Astrochoc Centauri Star
Alpha Centauri is the brightest star in The Pointers.

Astrochoc Sirius Rose

Sirius, the brightest star in the night sky, sometimes called the ‘Dog Star’.

Astrochoc Rigel Nutmeg

Rigel Kent is another name for one of The Pointers.

Astrochoc Vega Mmajc
Vega is a very bright star in out Northern sky. It is the fifth brightest. In the movie "Contact" this was where the signal from the ETs was coming from.

Astrochoc Betelguese Boy

Betelguese is the second brightest star in Orion

Astrochoc Barnard Boy
Barnard's star is in the same neighbourhood as our sun, and in The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (1979), novel by Douglas Adams, Barnard's Star is a way station for interstellar travelers.

A couple of years ago our staffy, Billy, had a dark Drizabone coat... in dark lighting, the way he'd sit and the coat would hang... it was inevitable... Darth Billy.
