Certainly looking forward to catching up Paul!
The first AAIC in 2011 set a bar for future astro meets and knowing Mark I reckon this one will go a notch above that.

Pleased to say OPT are supplying us with some giveaways so we might have a lucky door prize after all. Sadly no Australian support yet - come on guys you want us to buy in Australia - don't you?

I'm looking for someone to share a 2 bedroom apartment at the Cascade Gardens, close to the Crowne Plaza.
Due to unforeseen circumstances my roomies are not able to attend.
You would have your own room with ensuite , cost $45 a night.

HI All,
for anyone who is attending the AAIC2013, here's a glimpse of the items we'll be presenting on Sunday 25th for the BOSS supernova search group.
It's an update since the last presentation at the AAIC2011.
It's entitled 'We Bag 'em, They Tag 'em:, and focusses on the science outcomes of our discoveries, plus some Hubble Space Telescope news.
Since AAIC 2011 we have:
- Discovered 38 more supernovae
- Two discoveries have been imaged by the Hubble Space Telescope
- There have been at least 5 science papers written about our discoveries
- We have our first Astrophysical Journal paper citing BOSS team members as authors.
- In 2012, we discovered 20, this is more supernova than any other non-professional search team (same as Puckett team)
- In 2013, we issued our first “Astronomer’s Telegram” (ATEL 5225) for announcement of the discovery of the new SN in NGC6984 -site of a mysterious second explosion
- Expanded our professional network to multi-million dollar observatories in:
- South America,
- North America,
- Australia
- South Africa
- Italy

I fly in to Coolangatta this evening. Does anyone know how far the hotel is from the airport?
I propose to take a cab. If there is anyone about who wants a lift, let me know

Pete, its about 20 to 25 minutes from Cooloongatta to the hotel north at Surfers..
If anyone is arriving at Brisbane airport, you'll need about 45 minutes to an hour depending on the traffic and time of day...There are some roadworks on the main highway heading south between Brisbane and the Gold Coast occurring at night, and this can lengthen the journey unfortunately.
