Superb imagery Greg. A very nice reward for going out early and risking electrification. Better than any lightning shot I have ever obtained.

Absolutely awesome shot Greg!

Appreciate you wanting to protect your image, but the only pity for me is that
I find the watermark so distracting. My eye keeps getting drawn to it.

Sadly it is a necessary evil these days Gary. As much as I would like to upload my images unblemished, I know of far too many instances of work getting stolen. I usually have my watermark a lot more transparent than how it is in this, but that is usually on my night sky scape work where the pictures are a lot darker. I had to up the look of it in this instance as it was getting lost in the crop too much.

What a fabulous image Greg!

Did you have to wait long for the lightning to drop into that wonderful frame?

Cheers,

Justin.

Just went back and checked all the images Justin. This was frame number 43 of 88 with this composition and settings (5 second exposures), so what's that, about 4 minutes?. Of those 88 frames I had lightning in another 10 frames, but this was certainly the standout. Very active storm.

The lightning got even closer?! One of the bolts appears to hit just the other side of the field! Think I would not have had the bottle to keep photographing with the storm as near as it was, but what a reward you got! Fantastic shot
