After about 3 hrs of attempts to connect to the site I managed to get the full CS2 (ver 9.0) 1.9GB and Adobe Pro ver 8.0 (478MB) took nearly two hours to get all the files. 4:00PM 7/1/2013

I installed Adobe Pro V8.0 with the supplied serial number. Ver 6.06 was removed automatically. Activation was not required and the activation menu was whited out. I believe activation was automatic. I registered it OK

Next I installed CS2 from the first disc however it then calls for disc2. This needs to be extracted manually. I ran the disc 2 program and then the disc 3 program but they did not install. The Photoshop program however did install but not the other 3 programs

I ran Photoshop and registered it and it runs correctly and does not require activation.

I have placed all the files on a DVD disk and will try to re-install from the disc at a later date.

Barry

I previously had Adobe Pro 6.0 and Photoshop CS2 ver 8.0. I also have TheGimp. There are things that are done best in photoshop and things that are easier in TheGimp.

"Outdated" depends on how deep your pockets are.
Some people here have tens of thousands to splash around on equipment and software, some thousands, some mere hundreds.
Always nice to have the latest and greatest of anything, but it's not realistic for most people.
Horses for courses.

I have tried all the latest versions but unless you are a pro photographer the older versions are ok and easier to use

I still use my first scope an 8" f6 eq newtonian pier mount bought second hand in 1985, its old tech but still works ok

This is nice. I recommend downloading with Flash Get. All 5 files(Creative Suite) for Win 7 downloading at 300Kbs+ each. I'm not good old Optus Cable.

CS2 is outdated in terms of what you can do with CS5/CS6.

If it does what you want, then, happy days.

For others, including myself, things such as the layout of the panels allowing adjustment layers to be created with just ONE click is an absolute boon.

Agreed H - CS5 is nearly perfect. I have not run CS6 except on the Uni Macs, where it seems as good as 5.

just found this

just found this info on the net:

It appears that the activation servers for Adobe CS2 have been terminated, and the downloadable application which is available on the Adobe site does not require activation. The updated CS2 application merely requires a serial number to install.
With it being possible to obtain the installation files and serial numbers, there was a misconception that Adobe is providing CS2 for free, but unfortunately this is not the case.
You are only legally able to download and install CS2 if you are a previously licensed user.
Sorry folks!
“On behalf of Adobe Systems Incorporated …
You have heard wrong! Adobe is absolutely not providing free copies of CS2!
What is true is that Adobe is terminating the activation servers for CS2 and that for existing licensed users of CS2 who need to reinstall their software, copies of CS2 that don’t require activation but do require valid serial numbers are available

Phil,
I was looking at a block out that way many years ago. They were asking $25,000. I should have bought it.
