In case anyone following this build thread wants to (finally) see the first full colour image out of Eagleview Observatory, I have just posted it in the Deep Space section of Ice in Space - NGC 1232
Ok guys ... your requests for photos got me thinking, if I have to choose my favourite photos that mean the most or best represent the euphoria, excitement and at times, outright disbelief, of finding myself at such a place...it's very hard, there are 100's.... but...these are probably the top eight that come to mind
1) The exciting approach, where I start to sing opera
2) Arriving above the clouds
3) The observatory
4) The dark sky (have cracked 22)
5) The great seeing (under 1.7")
6) Family and friends
7) The loungeroom view at night
8) The food and beer
How's that?

Mike, there's no doubt about it, you're living the dream!
That view from your lounge............
Yeah, I hope I don't wake up ...the night I took that view from inside the loungeroom, it was stunning, I was bloody well near tears with emotion, happy tears of course but I managed to hold'em off
Ok more happy snaps...the accommodation wing is finished, a converted and insulated shipping container with power, lights and an a/c unit (No water/plumbing or dunny, go in the main house for that), somewhere for visiting astronomers to sleep quite cosy and comfy
Another happy snap shot, from Sunday, approaching Eagleview from the west, this is the only point where the road crests to 725m AMSL, on the westerly approach, where Mt Eagle (on top of which is Eagleview Observatory) shows itself and its height above the surrounding hills, just for a moment......aaaand the point where I usually start to sing opera
Mike
