"Starlight" by Slash featuring Myles Kennedy on vocals. Brilliant singer with an amazing range in his voice.

i dont often bring up old threads, but i couldn't resist this one...

star gazing aside... one of my other passions in life is music...

i stumbled across a couple of astro related tunes i recorded a couple of
years ago in my studio at home and thought i'd add them to the list...

Ain't No Sunshine

Howlin' At The Moon

cheers...

You've probably already got Star One's album(s). Another great Ayreon offshoot. Floor Jansen (After Forever), Damian Wilson (ex-Threshold), Russell Allen (Symphony-X) and of course, Mr. Arjen Lucassen himself. What more could I want?

My favourite of his is, of course, The Human Equation.

Actually, everyone should give Ayreon a go. A lot of it is rather spacey.

High Moon -- Damian's vocals during the chorus get me every time -- he delivers the goods with such grace and majesty; one of the sweetest voices in rock. Excuse the absolutely shocking audio quality on this video.
Intergalactic Space Crusaders
Amazing Space Flight

Whilst I'm at it, and, because I love Floor Jansen so much, here's Valley of the Queens.

Humayun

Good god there is another Star One fan out there. I thought I was the only one

Saxon's The Eagle has Landed about the moon landing.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5xFHOqx5mQk

Take a giant step for mankind
On a distant lunar sea
As you travel across the universe
Will you take a step,
take a step for me
Will you take a step for me
Voyage of an eagle
Blasting to the stars
You take the hopes and dreams of men
To find yourself, to find tranquillity
To find tranquillity
Traveled across the universe
And placed the lonely flag
Out there in isolation
At the final, the final frontier
At the final frontier
The world's in celebration
As we wait for your return
You took a giant leap for mankind
On another, on another world
On another world
Take it easy take it slow
Don't go fast don't let go
The eagle has landed
The eagle has landed
The eagle has landed
The eagle has landed

Did you get the new album, Victims of the Modern Age that came out late last year? He changed the theme somewhat this time, gone for a distopian future theme. Mad Max, Planet of the Apes sort of thing. Arjen got all of original singers and musos that he had on Space Metal.

Must be in fashion at the moment - or is it because Im a little obsesed at the moment that I am noticing a lot of space references!

Katy Perry has a new single out called ET

Eminem has a new one called space bound

There is also a new song about space by that group who made that really annoying like a G6 song.

Andrew,

I've got it. ; )

I've lately been mesmerised all over again by Opeth's first two masterpieces, Orchid and Morningrise. Such manic riffing and insane counterpoint guitaring.

Gaud Andrew, I had to google that, id forgotten, lucky I had. Acoustic with fancy vocals?, sheesh, awefull. Gimme Bohemian Rhapsody any day, that almost tops Muse in dramatic effect, a classic to be sure.
