It's been raining here for the last 30 minutes now. And it looks like
something else coming in behind it.

Graham, glad you made it safe and sound

Mallanganee Lookout November 13th or 14th

Just looking at dates that best suit me. And the new moon falls on
Tuesday the 17th. So the weekend prior looks like the best option.
Hope that suits all. So weather permitting, hopefully see you all there.

Cheers,CS ...beautiful and clear here this morning.

Silly me, I've found out I'll have my boys the weekend of the 13th/14th
so I wont be available. And the weekends prior or after dont look like
the best options either. So what would you like to do?

Cheers,CS

Just cut south of us here in Mallanganee. There is a huge mass gathering
a lil south of Grafton that might hit Lismore and Ballina later tonight

Anyways, been doing some work on the scope so all's cool

Well good to get a bit of rain today, 18mm so far in nextdoor's rain
guage.

Was thinking maybe keeping a get together back on the 13th/14th
if people are still keen. I'll have my boys, but that should be cool.

The weather for this weekend is uncertain. I think I'll stay home.
I observed last night for a while.

No worries Glen,

I think I'll give it a miss too. I'm going to take the boys to the bush as
there are a couple of birthday parties on this weekend.

Looking good for tonight out here, might get the scope out.

Cheers,CS

Hey fellas,

Hope you all are keeping cool! and had a great wekend.
I've had an excellent weekend myself I can also say I've finally
finished my scope with the installation of the new Argo stalk on the
16" along with fixing the balance issues with a removable counter
weight I build for the SC. The new stalk has the ability to be properly
removed for travel. I had Wildcard install the encoder cables in the
tube itself and they also made up some tails for the rocker box.

Anyways I want to put together an astro evening out at Mallanganee
Football Oval for the locals. And I'm looking for some helpers with
scopes for an evening. I can sort sort accomodation at my place if you
would like to say over. Glen I can accommodate your camper if you
would like, if your keen to help out. I understand Xmas is coming up so
I think we would look at the new year. Graham you and your partner
would be most welcome. Paul (Lismore Bloke) you too!

Anyways we'll see who is interested and go from there.

Cheers,CS

I have just been outside using the 20x80s. The previous night I used the 12" Dob.

Hey Rob and Graham and Glen,

I'll be there too! I now have my new binos Meade 9 x 63 which are great so I will bring them along. Also I reckin we should cater for the masses - I might get organised to do some baking. Rob what do you think about talking to the local cafe about whether they'd be interested in setting up a little stall? Or is that getting too complicated...

Hey Guy's

How about either the 15th or 16th/01/10.

Great stuff Judith love to have you there, not sure about the cafe thing
tho as it will probably just be a few locals... but then again the whole
town might turn out. but great idea for the future tho.

Cheers,CS

Public Viewing Night Mallanganee 16th Jan 2010

I've put together a bit of a flyer to put up on the town notice board.

Graham, will you be available?

To give the event a bit of a boost I'm going to have a chat with the
local ladies who seem to run a few get togethers around town. So it
might end up being fairly big, but I think will be a lot of fun all the same.
I'm not quite sure how dark it will be on the Oval with regards to local
light pollution. But I have a bit coming through my yard, still get pretty
good views.

Also I've seen some great possible alternative observing sites in the hills
south of Mallanganee that might be worth investigating.

Anyways have a good weekend all

Cheers,CS
