HAHA Thanks Rob.. Im going to be checking out everyone imaging. Ive played a bit with sharpcap and a bit with wxastrocapture.. I still dont understand the histogram and settings. The only usable stuff I have got is on the sun through a PST. I dont go very well at night on the imaging side so stick to mainly observing. Also I have an explore scientific 82 degree 14mm. Im really keen to try it out against some of the more expensive Eps of the same FOV and see how it compares if anyone will let me.
I am sure there will be one or two people happy to give the ES 14mm a test run (I dibs first go!!) I have the 13mm Nag which is a comparable EP so might be interesting.
Just letting you know I have had to pull the pin on this camp as my "hammer and tack" has decided to do a job on me. I can hardly move and there is no way I could hack the 6.5hr drive from Adelaide, let alone lug all the scope stuff around, reckon I would end up crippled. What a bummer, was really looking forward to this after the November washout.
I have been working my buns off at home painting up and down ladders, crawling around in tight places, and this old body just aint up to scratch and it has decided to remind me I am no longer a young fella. I do have issues with my lower spine with virtually no discs in some places, the vertibrae are virtually touching. As it is I go to the physio every 3 weeks for a touch up, but I reckon I have been over doing it and am paying the price.
Im hearing you.. few of my mates have their backs fused and cant ride anymore. I smashed myself up a fair bit quite a few yrs back in an accident myself. Ive put off an operation or 2 on my leg while I have some work on the flood recovery here. The lil ppl keep me on my toes tho. Since their Mum left a few yrs ago it was flat out. nice to get back to some work for a rest haha. Have to love after school care
Thanks for letting us know, Pete.
You will be missed but there are more camps ahead. You only get one spine.
Rest up mate
Hmmmm, weather is still looking good.
The forecast seems to get better each day.
Friday will be cold and wet, so be prepared for some wet grass and maybe a shower or two when you arrive on Friday.
If we have a clouded out Friday night we still have all the other nights which are looking fine.
What sux is I have the rest of the week of because the shire has pulled our grader operator and the boss rang saying "dot worry we will be back into it Monday"... If only this happened next week we couldve stayed all 4 nights.. Timing sux!!!

That's bad news Pete, I was looking forward to catching up and maybe placing an order
One thing, think of all the free medical advice and treatment you could get if you came. I seem to recall we helped cure one old fella in Nov. and Martins shoulder would have been a lot better if he'd only taken the medicine
How many doctors were there anyway?
Seriously, rest up and get well and I might be in contact re a light box.
Hope you get better soon Peter. No rush to mod my webcam, so just let me know when you are feeling better.
Rob_K, will you do a astrophotography noobie-class too, cause that will be for me
24 hours to go people!
Bo
getting excited now! Spent hours trying to track down all the bits and pieces last night. Now just where the hell is that spirit level and compass Darren?!?!?!?!
The weather looks pretty good out the window but any change in that will be laid fairly at Doug's feet for the purchase of his new scope!

Bad luck Pete, hope the back comes good soon. Hafta catch up another time.

Bo, I run an excellent course in how NOT to do astrophotography! Basically if you do the opposite to me, you're on the right track. Guaranteed to increase your skill base up to 300%*.

Bring it on Snake Valley!!!
Don't blame me. I don't have he scope yet. In fact I am going to try and guarrantee good weather by leaving my scope at home and only bringing the DSLR with me.
Going to do a Leon.
Doug, I'm sure even posting an intention to own new gear days before the camp is verbotten! I can supply plenty of raw data for you to process in your idle hours. Everyone assures me there's plenty there but I'll be f$%&*d if I can tease it out.
Hi,
would anyone happen to have a cats eye collimation kit?
I'm having woes with my 8" F4 and the focuser alignment. Driving me nuts.
Laser shows fine, but stars are elongated on one side.
Erick, would be cool if we could try that Ronchi grating screen as well.
