Melb Planetarium visit - Anyone been lately?

I went along to the Melb Planetarium last Thursday night for a look. It was the last of the wine and cheese nights with a look at the Milky Way. My wife came along too and it was really enjoyable.
All the information was given in laymans terms by an astronomer so not just for the astro heads amongst us. The Hubble shots were fabulous when shown on such a huge scale of the dome roof.

There were a few scopes setup outside for a peek thru too.

For those imagers from this forum that have their photos on display it was fantastic to see. Its one thing to see these wonderful images on the screen but to see them framed is another. Many of the names I recognised from here. Amazing pics

Thoroughly recommend a visit

cheers
Damian

Hmmm ... sounds interesting.

Can't say I knew about it ..... but I'll be finding out more about it now.

Thanks for the info.

I attended all 4 of the Thursday nights in March and they were all brilliant. Very informative and entertaining, not to mention the cheese and dips were good too. Thursday nights are quite dull now that it's over.

Did you get your complimentary Star Wars keyring with the survey?

I'd love to go to the Melbourne planitarium but it is out of my price range especially as the last time I organised to go it cost $3000 and the weather was so hot I stayed in my Hotel.
