James,

Your scope should've come with a finderscope! Unless you mean something like a Telrad!

As far as motors you can get an item called an EQ platform which tracks Dobs. Or you can mount the scope on an EQ6 Equatorial mount with motor drives.

It would be good if you didn't have t sell it as you will regret it on those clear nights when you have plenty of time to spare. Might not be often but when they come you won't be saying 'wish I still had my Dob.

There are many types of GoTo scopes (computerised find the object scopes).

James this is about the simplest method to turn a dob into a non-motor driven GoTo style scope. It helps you find things quick!

James, If you have room to store the socpe, don't sell it! You will regret it later. If kept clean and dry it won't go off and will be there when you have more time on your hands.

James:

a dob takes virtually no time to set up. In contrast a GoTo needs to be set up, polar aligned (maybe) and then two or three star aligned.

It actually takes longer to get going and there is a heck of a lot more gear to carry in and out of the house...you will need power in the first instance
