Sending some newbies your way.

It would seem that I have had a big effect at work by taking my scope in.
I am getting quite a few people visiting me asking all sorts of questions, especially about collimation, and what sort of scope to buy.
I am not anywhere near a guru on the subject of collimation, so I am encouraging them to join this forum, and leave it up to you guy's and gal's to help them out.
Expect lot's of Newbies from SE QLD.
Give them a warm welcome, (as you always do) when they join.

One today was extolling the virtues of his new GSO 8", telling me that he was looking at 2 women getting into thier car from 10Km away, just to test it of course. No, he is not a pervert!!!!!! He was Bird watching...

I am seriously considering starting a new club, Community based of course, to take advantage of available grants.

The Local Mayor is a friend of mine, that might help.

Mike

Hey Mike,

I have the same effect over here when we go out with friends for drinks and then they look up at the sky. I then start telling them about the cosmos and the various objects and they get curious. Next I organize a viewing session and introduce them to the night sky. It feels good to share the cosmos with others
