Peter, the camera is a Phillips SPC900NC, with a 3x ED Barlow and extension tube..

I'm on the edge of the decision to get an imaging source DBK21 or DBK31.. Although before I spend money on a better camera, more aperture is definitely on the menu.

sure did mate.. that was sitting there with both axis unlocked.

The only difficulty was getting it to balance with the focuser hanging it out the side... hence why the focuser orientation is as it is.

The EQ6 weights may be heavier than the HEQ5 ones are.. or maybe the counterweight shaft is longer.

Where the weights are in that pic is where it found balance..

They use the same weights (5Kgs), I think the bar is longer by the looks. 4 weights would nearly fill the heq5 bar.

Should have the last of my toys back this week. Will need a test run to make sure it's all go.

That VC200L is really stable on the Heq5. No wobble at all when focusing, it's quite odd really. However it was on it's own, Haven't setup the guide scope with it yet.

yeah, with the guide scope, camera and a filter or two there may be some difference...

I was meaning to ask, whats the weight difference of the vixen/skywatcher??

My ****ty scales put the Vixen at 7.5Kgs and the DOB at nearly 12Kgs (including finder scopes but not flip mirror etc). The rings and bar on the DOB must be about 3.
