Anyone have slow & bad experience with optcorp?

Was wondering if anyone experiencing extremely slow service with optcorp?

I purchased 2X televue barlow and 2 hyperions on the 8th Feb,2008.

I was told several days later the barlow is not in stock (initially they said they had them in stock), and that the hyperions were in stock.

Days later I was told Hyperions aren't in stock (after they initially told me they were in stock) and they should have them by early this week.

It's now 21st Feb (almost 2 weeks later) and haven't heard anything.

Any suggestions as to what I should do? Thankyou.

If they're keeping you updated on the situation, then that's pretty good.

I ordered a Baader UHC-S filter that wasn't in stock, and received an email telling me as such and that it would be a few weeks. I got a follow up a couple of weeks later that it still wasn't in stock.

I've of course got the option of cancelling and buying elsewhere.

I'd follow up with an email asking on the status of your order.

If the item is in stock, then you can expect to see it within 7 days (as long as it doesn't have to go through customs ). If they don't have it in stock then you could be in for a wait sometimes.

Contact them and follow it up. They're good people from my experience. Bought something worth several thousand from them years ago. And have asked them lots of questions regarding other things. Very helpful and honest it seemed.

Got my Hyperion Zoom from AlpineAstro yesterday.
Only took 6 days from the US to Brisvegas.
They seem to have the same prices as optcorp.

Might be worth giving them a try.

I had a big purchase through them recently which had me worried for a little while..I even started a thread like this.

I had good correspondence with them until I paid the money and then couldn't get any reply for a couple of weeks, during which time the order was meant to have shipped. I emailed the owner in the end and he said their internet sales person was having troubles sending emails to me.

They were very apologetic and kept me well informed from then on, but I got the feeling they had sold my item and were just waiting for another to come in

I've only had good dealings with them, they've been good about keeping me informed on the progress of items that they don't have in stock.

I've made several purchases from OPT & they've been spot on every time.

Make sure you pay the extra small amount & join the loyalty club. It produces good discounts in the future.

If you are a member of an Astronomy club then you get the discount for free. Some discounts are up to 50 USD

If you are not then I am sure Ken could make you an honorary member of the Snake Valley club.

I am a member of the Glebe Astronomy club, at the moment it has only one member, two if you count my dog
