Here's a chart for 8pm tonight, 31st and 1st.

I observed Tuttle a couple of nights ago. More impressive is Holmes which is
naked eye from here.

If the weather isn't playing the game, there is what looks like an interesting
program on tonight SBS 8:30pm (NSW time) called Super Comet. I think it's
a fictional doco

Tonight I viewed 8p/Tuttle and M33 in the fov of my binos at the same time, beautiful sight. Can't see a tail on Tuttle it's a small bright smudge, easy to spot being so close to M33 at the moment. Tomorrow at 21:30 It's will be NNW at an altitude of 25deg if you have binoculars look for M33 and Comet Tuttle should be in the same fov.

Christine,

no question is too silly and you wont be laughed at. We all started out
somewhere sometime. So feel at ease to ask.

Good luck, and dont forget to post an image if you get one.

Hi Christine,

No such thing here as a silly question. If only because most, if not all of us have been there done that as they say.

Its still light here (suns just gone down) and its good to hear that tonights view is as good as i was hoping it would be. Thanks Mick.

Saw both comets last night through the 30X100's, most impressive. The 10X50's showed both well also.

Hi Christine.

There's quite a few of us from the central coast - we went observing last night up at Mangrove Mountain (our local dark sky site), and I observed both comet holmes and comet tuttle through binoculars and did some widefield imaging of them.

Maybe you can join us on Saturday the 5th? Have a look in the "Star Parties" forum for a thread about it.
