Please help

Hi everybody,

Can anyone tell me what has happened here? I’m using Quattro 200 with ASI294 MC Pro on Alt-Az/Eq GT. The whole frame starts to move down and right with a whole new exposure while collecting frames in Sharpcap…
Thank you in advance,
Phil

Phil,
It looks like SharpCap is trying to livestack your target but the tracking is poor as though polar alignment isnt good enough.
Use SharpCap to do polar alignment again , maybe for a few iterations.

Hope that helps

Yes it looks like your field of view is moving during and between each sub. Are you guiding? Is your Mount set up in EQ or alt-az mode?

Hi Phil,
Is this the SW AZGTi? Is the movement continuous or between longer subs? The PE error is not fantastic and I resort to guiding even at wide FL for anything more than 60s. A shorter/continuous movement during tracking is the backlash- usually it effects mine at low Alt targets. Try adjusting the weight but also use the direction buttons to move it in the opposite direction to stop it in its tracks. If you move to a target through the Syncscan app it shows which buttons to press- if you sync with sharpcap it doesnt, and I end up pressing every direction until it goes away. Might take a few goes...then plate solve if you have moved too far. The guide stars should stay fixed and you know you're good to go. I get mine guiding as good as on AM5 most nights.
Cheers
Gary

Hi everyone, thanks for the quick response! I’m using SW AZEQ 6Pro, doing 8sec subs, and it came out of the blue?? I did manage a good photo eventually.. being really new, I might have done something silly with tracking when trying to frame it.. I’ll have another go tonight and see what happens. Thanks very much for the input!
