I love my mum, and I can finally say how I appreciate the wonders of the Aurora Australis, with mum sharing this name, Aurora, and her showing me the beauty of the night sky at such a young age, I wanted to share my first ever images of this spectacular event captured from my backyard from the light polluted fringes of Melbourne using the humble every day mobile phone!
I’m sure many awesome images will follow but couldn’t contain my enthusiasm to share these with my obsy in the foreground.
Anthony, amazing to see that despite Melbourne's heavy Light Pollution it couldn't stop the intense Aurora from showing your Mum its glory in honour of Mother's Day and her name! Great memory of the event, well done.
Lovely memories. My mum passed 14 years ago to cancer. Although I had a fantastic view of the aurora from dark skies in western NSW, I have to say, I'd rather have been able to spend mothers day with her like you did than watching the aurora.
