Only 2 days in to the season and I already hate Summer. When I grew up in Perth I loved Summer but it was a dry heat not this sticky humid condition .. thankfully I don't live up in North QLD.
Canberra gets hot as Hades but being almost negligible humidity it is wonderful. I think I’ve sweated 4 times in the past 5 years, unlike bloody SEQ where I was a dripping mess 24/7/365
As I said to the wife, you have to drag me back to QLD. Nothing I miss. How I tolerated it for 35 years beats me

Agreed, Perth is nice and dry.
I was quite happy and comfortable with 42C there, versus 32C and humid here in Melbourne.
Sydney is far worse than Melbourne with respect to heat and humidity. The humidity is worse there, and it goes on for much longer than in Melbourne - where you know it will go away in a couple of days.
Cheers,

Al Bean, Apollo 12 lunar module pilot quoted some time after his return to Earth “ I’m glad we have weather , people grumble about the weather all the time , we live in the garden of eden here on Earth”
I suppose we’re creatures of habit , when we get outside our comfort zone , we grumble , I admit I’m guilty of that.
Summers great , family and friends BBQ’s , beach and surf , thongs , mozzies , Christmas beetles , cicadas, flowers blooming , mowing lawns , long days and yes heat and humidity .......

The only thing I hate about Summer is this bloody daylight saving stuff, I get up at 5.30am every day, (yea I know, I'm stupid) and then it isn't dark till 10 mid summer, makes for a long day.

When we were in Kununurra we knew a woman who wouldn't go swimming unless it was hot enough - 40C or above. The locals put on jumpers at 25C. After a couple of years up north I was comfortable with >30C every day but coastal humidity could be a killer. I remember nights in Cairns where it felt like I could stand up and raise my arm into the cloud. And Daintree is a beautiful place but I couldn't live there.
Here's a couple of photos taken yesterday in the place I grew up as toddler. Should cool this thread nicely.
Nope .. these images just remind me of the first time I ever went skiing .. was at Mt Selwyn .. had to strip down to just a T-Shirt and bib and brace overalls snow gear because it was a bright sunny day like in these images and I got very bad sunburn which I didn't know until the following day.
I love Summer
Endless days, beach, BBQ, driving with the window open and feeling the wind instead of a/c
Everyone’s generally in a good mood as well unless you’re old and grumpy as mentioned above

Hans mentioned he’s old and grumpy at 57 , I’m 61 not old just grumpy sometimes
In this new millennium your not “old” until you’ve been awarded an OBE ( over bloody eighty )
