Hi all,
Thanks for the great article Trevor.

As a newb I found this really helpful as well.

http://www.astronomyforum.net/austra...emisphere.html

These is a setup someone made using an aluminium bar, a level, an orienteering compass, and something to measure angles that seems to make it all quite simple (at least for visual).

Cheers
Mick

Thumbs up

Thanks Trevor, a great article.

The GEM can be such a confusing piece of equipment for beginners. Not only the polar alignment but also the RA/Dec movement is not the up/down & left/right movement beginners are use to.

This article will help many beginners.

Hello, I am a beginner, which telescope would you recommend for me? Is this telescope suitable for a beginner?
