Hi gang, i think its time i optimise my settings instead of using the default values from the manual. I know you use the pixel values from biases to find optimal settings but I'm kinda confused as to how I go about doing this. Is this possible in APT (image capture program I'm most comfortable with). If someone can take the time for a step by step guide, it'd be super appreciated. There arent that many clear tutorials online that I could find but if you have a link to a good one, that'd also help heaps.
I have attached a QHY calibration pdf for you. This is for the QHY9 but the procedure is the same for the QHY8. The author is doing it at different temperatures, but you don't have to go to that extent.
Thanks guys, I've been getting decent results with the default settings, but every little bit helps. I'll get to these when I have spare time maybe on a cloudy day
