FLI cameras and PemPro v2

does anyone know how to connect a FLI camera with PEMPro. i am using the camera add on in TheSkyX to control the camera and the only options it gives are; CCDsoft, Maxim DL, MEADE DSI and AstroArt ... surely i dont have to buy Maxim DL, there must be others out there using FLI with PEMpro. i tried CCDsoft as it is the forerunner to theskyx camera add on but no dice.

You can connect your camera via ASCOM using the beta version of Pempro V3. You can find it here.

I have used Pempro V2 with a Proline. It worked fine. As mentioned I think it was through the Ascom option.

Greg.

I can't find the option to use an ascom camera ... The ascom logo is there but that just links off to the web page.

ASCOM is not available in V2. You have to use V3 beta.

Glad you got it sorted out.

I just read your thread on the SB forum. Did you figure out if PEC was the source of your RA oscillation? The pattern in your guide log looks periodic so it seems like it must be PEC related.

so i stopped the analysis of my "corrected PE" and i am still getting a 4.7 second peak to peak. this is down from 6.7 seconds but hardly sub arc second as would be in spec.

What is your image scale collecting PE? Is your camera rotated to PA=0 (or PA=180). TSX requires this, but perhaps PEMpro is more tolerant? Is your seeing good? If not try much later at night. I sawyour posts at the SB forum but thought I'd prefer to answer here. You certainly ought to be able to do a lot better. I got my MX to .6 arc-sec with PEMpro.

Hi Peter

Image scale: .45 arc seconds per pixel
Camera angle: it is currently at 5 degrees to the ra axis which should be close enough, though pempro does take this into consideration
Seeing: seeing is definitely average not sure exactly how much though

I was also expecting sub arc second pe, I will have another go tonight and see how it goes

You may need to ask SB for a replacement worm. When PMX's first went out the PE was worse than what they promoted. Mine was fine but developed a sudden spike after several months. I let SB know and they originated sending a new worm. I installed the new worm and it was better than the original. Now I was getting low PE before PEC. After PEC it was quite low.

Greg.
