I have an Olympus OM-D EM1. They are a fantastic camera. They have quite small pixels at 3.75 microns square and I can't help but wonder how well it might do for some occasional OSC imaging if I can get it to talk with MaximDL or some other image acquisition software that I have (Nebulosity mainly).
I see that Maxim does have an Olympus DSLR option in their camera setup and see also from Cyanogen's site that this works with their E-1, E-300, E-330, E-400, E-410, E-500 and E-510 models. The EM1 is not specifically mentioned.
I'm wondering if any of you have had a fiddle with Olympus cameras an astro imaging and have any tips/info that might he helpful.
I'm pretty sure that the converter used by PixInsight will deal with raw files from an OM-D. My wife has one so I'll give it a try this evening. We'll get you over to the dark side eventually
I think he's more concerned about the capture side of things, though.

He's taking the **ss out of me for owning a PIS licence and never using it. It's cruel and heartless to make fun of the mentally infirm like that, but that's life.

Actually, H is correct Peter. I didn't ready your post carefully enough.
Still happy to take credit for being cruel and heartless, of course
Naturally!
I just tried to get Maxim to talk to it, also SGP. Neither would see the camera. Pity. But I can still control the camera remotely with it's built-in wi-fi facility so all is not lost. And since I only plan using this cam on my FS60 and a Losmandy StarLapse which has no PC connectivity in any case (I.e. No ST4, no Dec drive and no plate solving) it will still make a helluva wide field for travelling.
