Sorry about the rain in Brisbane tonight

My new 305mm Sky Watcher dob arrived from Astro Pete's today and it's all ready to go. I'd expect at least a week of bad weather.

Sorry.

You've got to be happy with that Jerry.

I'll give you a month before you start to tinker with it. I have the same model and over time it has had a few simple mods to make it easier to live with. The first for me was a light shroud and then a plywood rolling base.

I have the 10" version and love it.
Now take your scope and clouds and head about 300km north.

A month, Ha! The Telrad and flocking for the secondary cage arrived today and I have a 2 speed focuser gear on order. It should be here any day.

A rolling base sounds good but the best spot to observe at my place is directly under a street light. I'll be hauling that thing in the car any time I want to observe.

Can anyone tell me if the parks around Brisbane close after dark or can I set up there without being bothered?

thanks,
JL
