Pandanus Rock Stars

In an area normally off-limits to tourists (past East Beach at Cape Leveque), there’s some sacred Aboriginal land in and around the sand dunes near Hunters Creek. Fortunately, Ken has connections and was able to get a local Aboriginal guide, Gavin Hunter, to come with us into the dunes so we could do some photography at sunset.

These Pandanus Palms look like a group of ‘Rock Stars’ as they provide great contrast against the beautiful blue water and white sand of East Beach, and the red sand dunes around Hunters Creek.

Our group split into two with one half photographing some Pandanus Palms up on a ridge line and another group heading further along the beach into the sand dunes area. I was up on the ridge first, and captured these two shots before heading down to meet the other group in the sand dunes where we spent the rest of the evening until the Sun had set.

It was a beautiful spot and the area down on the sand dunes was just as good, if not better. More photos coming soon.

Good one.

Seems to be a few 'baldies' in the mosh-pit.

Looks to be a nice contrast warm and cool.

Those images are so sharp. The detail in the leaves is great.
I love the vibrant blue in the Large 1 image. I would like the large 2 image to have the same water colour but it's still great as is.
Looking forward to seeing the rest

Looks like the perfect spot to drop a line in and enjoy some cold ones while waiting for the sunset
