Milky Way at 50mm

Pretty unimaginative title really, as i'm still not sure on the proper names of the different parts of the MW.
If i had to guess, i'd say this was maybe Scorpius?

Anyway, this was taken a couple of hours out of Adelaide last month.
It's a DSS stack of a number of shots using a 50mm F1.8 (@F4) on a D7000. Minor tweaking in DSS only, for colour saturation and midtones i think.
Reducing the file size kills the detail, but this lens is amazing.
Cheers

That's a great shot.

Most companies 50mm lenses seem to perform better than other focal lengths. It must be the sweet spot for the opticians work.

I have that lens and agree its a beauty. I also have the Canon equivalent and it is exactly the same in performance.

Greg.
