Hi,
Comet Lovejoy is getting harder to image, but still within reach.
It still seems best at ISO 3200 for my canon 1100D, but I have gone for 210sec exposures and more noise reduction in camera. Also more difficult to process!
Camera Canon 1100D.
Lens 18 to 55 zoom at 21mm ISO 3200 f/3.5.
6 x 210 sec light frames and 2 darks.
Processed in DSS and Photoshop.
Cheers,
Justin.
Well done Justin!! Yes, pretty faint in first image, but certainly more evident in the next day. Good processing!!!
Great to see it still being captured.
Good one Justin , starting to see the faint outer halo around the LMC, so you are getting quiet deep. I wonder what magnitude the fainter tail would be now?
cheers
I think there is a possibility to get one more image tonight. I'm going to reduce exposure time to 150 to 180 sec per frame to reduce noise, and take 10 frames instead of 6. The other problem is it is quite hot which is compounding the noise problem.
Really can't really go much longer because the tail is so faint and it moves nearly 2 arcminutes in that time spreading out the available light to capture from the tail.
