Britain's 900-year-old Oxford University was in shock on Friday after a prominent astrophysicist was found dead and a maths lecturer arrested on suspicion of his murder. Police said the body of Professor Steven Rawlings, 50, was found on Wednesday night at the home of Dr Devinder Sivia, 49, after a neighbour reported an incident. Dr Sivia, a lecturer in mathematics for the sciences, was arrested the same night and has since been released on bail.

Terrible business, it all seems a bit surreal though.

You really don't hear of these things happening between highly educated people at universities.

Oh, it probably happens, just that we don't usually here about, unless they are very prominent.

I've seen a few SKA presentations, one live. Both OZ and Africa present their cases as a shut and done deal. I've wondered of the background politics to make them so sure of success.
