We had a few storm cells come in and around Perth this morning and I took a few shots. These are some of my first serious shots at lightning. Tried a few settings and shot about 100+ with about 40 good captures. These are a few of the ones I liked....hope you like too.....

Thanks Bill !
It was all a fair bit away and just skirted the location I was at!
I watched it on the radar and saw that those more south and eastern ( you) were getting fairly battered!
Hope its (ROR) all ok?

Thanks Justin,
No lightning trigger ( I havent made the lead for the one I bought recently yet).
The wide field ones were 30 sec @f11 and iso250/400. the others were 10 sec and between f6 and f11 @iso 250.
Cheers

Thanks for all the comments !
I'm pretty stoked I got them. I wish I had more time to take more but I was at work and couldn't leave my post for to long!
And Yes Troy, Crux was the main aim those those shots! I was waiting for someone to pick that up, Glad you did .
I just ran out of time to compose it a bit better...
Thanks again.

I was out in the wheatbelt yesterday, drove home via some storm chasing near Goomalling. Got some nice shots, not spectacular lignting ones like yours, but there was a lot around. Got a bit scary with hail, wind, torrential rain, very close lightning, spot fires, so I'm feeling a little lucky to be alive today
I did forget to say that : I would like criticism ( constructive or otherwise ie tips hehehe) from anybody.
It would help in any further adventures I have taking these kind of pictures!
PS yes I have read up on all the dangers etc associated with this type of Photography+ .
And Mel.....no I wasn't wearing a tin foil hat
Cheers

PS and sorry Werner.....I called you Prokyon ....forgot it was you...
Wowowow Bart! You're setting the bar pretty high. Fantastic stuff. #2 really does it for me too. I had my first try with the lightning trigger last night. Got a couple of 'glows' no real lightning but I'm hoping for more soon.
