The Butterffly Cluster(M6)
Hi Guys
Ok,so this is M6, and I've got to say It gave me a hard time with gradients.
Not enough exposure time for the faint stuff in the field so was noisy...at least the color was.
Also was getting very low so the seeing crapped out,but what the heck haven't done a shot of It so here It is.
Obviously a sub standard piece of work but I like the overall composition with large dusty structures around the cluster.
Definitely visit this next year to go deep ! I'm sure I'll do It justice then.
details:
Object: M6
Exposures: Lum:4min x 15/RGB:4min x 4 each channel
Telescope: BabyQ/Reducer
Camera: ML 8300
Mount: GPDX/SS2/guide/50mm/PHD
Software: AA5/CS4
Hope you enjoy anyway.

Your a hard task master Louie, For the exposure time, I think you've done incredibly well.
Gradients seems to me to be the most difficult thing to deal with well, without effecting the overall image. I'm sure you will do it justice next year!

Have to agree about colours given little time spent, love how M6 sits in a dark patch compared with M7.

Louie,
Gosh, that is a beautiful composition.
I know this is one of your favourite clusters. It's one of mine, too!
I will give this a go next year with the FSQ.
Also, you should seriously give PixInsight a go for gradient removal. It is magic.
Cheers!
