Hi all,
just to advise our Ozzy cousins that there is going to be a Gissy Gathering this year (2011) over the NZ Labour Weekend. The Moon is in its dying stages. The GG runs from Friday 21st (Hawkes Bay Anniversary) until Monday 24th October (Labour Day). People are welcome to arrive from Thursday 20th and leave on the morning of Tuesday 25th October though).
There is imaging and observing at night and discussions about imaging/astronomy during the day using a data projector.
There is two acres for tenting and some sofas/floor space in my house for sleeping. A link to an old GG can be seen at -
