Fat Lady Sings

This one is still a work in progress. Much processing was done to salvage data from gradients and noise. The data was cropped about 50% due to the former, that I frankly couldn't solve without more data to use the full field due the usual problems.... and

Anyway the lady is here wearing a funny hat: Thor's Helmet

RCOS 14, STX, PME LRGB about 3 hours of data

Peter,

WOW! That is awesome! Look forward to the finished result.

Just one teeny suggestion? A little contrast in the OIII helmet portion itself would really make it pop -- just a little delineation between the shells.

Very, very nice, Peter

I'd like to see how good this'll get once you get a couple of good nights!!.

In any case, the "fat" lady sings sweetly, especially if she's Katherine Jenkins

Come on Pete, was expecting a real average sort of patch up...
Should have known better.
No bollocks, I think once you have a little more data to clean up that wee bit of background noise to the deeper blue component, this will have to come down as one of the best images I would have seen on Thors Helmet.

Detail, colour and richness of these things... the softness to the fine tendrils, the detail and richness to the outer shell are just sublime.

Hopefully in a week or so you'll have what you need.
Really look forward to the end result.
But even as is, it's still an absolute little beauty

All the best
Rich

Yeh.. a very nice quicky Peter

Funny you do a search of "opera singer" images and you get lots of Luc Pavarotti (my hero) and a fat lady in Thors helmet

Thank you one and all for your input.

I rather liked Mike's fat lady pic.... Nothing like a bit of Wagner to rouse the troops

Very nice Peter. I love the richness and deliniation in the various colours. It really adds depth to the image.
I am just wondering what is causing the halos around the stars. I haven't noticed this as evident in your earlier images with the 11000.

Could be a couple of things.

Ordinary transparency and (thin) high cloud due the chronic weather of late and me stretching the proverbial out of the data due the relatively short exposure....due....did I mention the weather?
