IF you were chosen for the Mars trip

Not wanting to sidetrack the Mars volunteers thread I started this one seperately.

IF you were one of those chosen for the 1 way Mars expedition (remembering that you will never come back to Earth for the rest of your life) and you are allowed to only take 3 products. What 3 products would you take with you?

For me it would be:

1. 100 Terrabytes of assorted Music
2. several thousand books stored on a Computer with an endless battery
3. 5 million rolls of soft toilet paper

I will assume that some form of communication is available on the base that you are stuck at and there is some form of power available..... So information can be readily obtained, be it books or otherwise.

Acoustic Guitar with never break strings already installed,

Solar powered multiple wheel drive vehicle ready for long expeditions

Small aircraft able to carry at least one person capable of flying through the Martian atmosphere, solar powered if possible

Boredom would be the biggest problem on mars.... So get out and explore.

Yea Martin, I got a bit carried away, well if it is only three, then.

1- Endless cigarette packet.
2- Solar powered Lappy
3- Can't take Alice, she wont go, so it would have to be my 5th Wheeler Rig which has all the comforts of home.

2: My new IPhone which is just fantastic.
3: Suze Raymond. (The hot babe that does Plucka Duck on Hey Hey it's Saturday.)

Daniel,

You have good taste. I saw her in the second of the reunion shows last year (I think it was) and was all :dribble: like.

One rule= No smoking inside the capsule on the way to Mars. The non smoking area is outside, good luck without a face shield on.

1. Angelina Jolie
2. & 3. Who cares?

No, seriously I reckon it'd have to be tactile mementos from Earth. You could get anything audio/visual streamed from Earth - all your books, music, photos etc. You could remain in contact with family & friends. Take some little things to connect you to your 'previous life'.

Assuming NASA would be providing the scopes & cameras & laptops () I'd take:
1. A little jar of opal chips
2. A small gold in quartz specimen
3. Still thinking.....

Cheers -

Hmmm, apart from the obvious and probably Nasa supplied habitat and oxygen etc, I would take;

1: Solar Battery Charger (or I could steal / hotwire the Phoenix's panels )
2: Laptop
3: 450 Million Kilometers of Optical Fibre cable connected to my router at home so I can still get Internet and therefore Ice In Space.....and then you guys could shimmy down the cable using a flying fox....one hard push and wwwwweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee eeeeee!

Should be sweet then...

Cheers

Chris

A set of ski's to ski down the ice caps. Hope my helmet doesn't get top heavy though..

A pair of bikinis for when I find water. (There will be a dome covering said puddle of water ).

A life times worth of make-up.

And for the rest of the stuff, I will pinch it or borrow it.

Leon may be catapulted onto Phobos as he smokes.

And as for the food, nano technology is well on the way to "creating food" out of pretty much nothing. Jetson style .

I am assuming, food, hair brush, toothpaste/toothbrush, tweezers & razor blades are covered under general allowance. If I'm going to breed, I need to be presentable.

P.S. If I'm lonely and desperate I wouldn't need too much convincing to steal Angelina either.

1. My wonderful slide collection of my rambling holiday through the engine room of Red Dwarf. Either that or my captivating slide collection of the Telegraph Poles of the 20th Century ... can't really decide.

2. All of my Morris Dancing Monthly magazines. Knees up!

3. And of course, the Space Corps Directives manual. Someone has to keep order, with the other rabble being allowed on the trip.
